Community Technologists are those who build, design, and facilitate the healthy integration of technology into their communities. Embodying this ethos, Puicón-Pérez spent six weeks investigating their home region’s economy and demographics. By analyzing 3 datasets and interviewing 8 regional SMEs, Puicón-Pérez identified an opportunity to cultivate and grow a worker co-op ecosystem in the region.
Aiming to engage interaction designers seeking to shape localized experiences that embody cooperation in their own work, Puicón-Pérez gathered their insights into a 10-page report and a series of media design visualizations named Considering Cooperation.
A zine version of the project highlighted key takeaways for shaping community-centered interaction design. It was used as a reference source for the Fall 2023 course Design for Social Innovation at ArtCenter College of Design.
